What is Ozone?
Ozone is a colorless odorless gas made of oxygen.Most oxygen in the air is 02 - two joined oxygen atoms. This is the oxygen that sustains life.
Ozone is 03 - three oxygen atoms joined together.
Ozone is ready to react with whatever it meets. This makes it very useful for cleaning and disinfecting because ozone is a powerful oxidizing agent. When it comes into contact with odor producing particles and bacteria (which produce odors, mildew, etc.), oxidation occurs. When odors and bacteria are oxidized, they are eliminated.
What is Ozone used for?
We use a low level ozone to eliminate some odors, mainly cigarette smoke. The use of an ozone machine is monitored carefully. The area being ozonated must not be occupied. Once the ozonation is complete, the area is "aired out" and can then be occupied again.
